KKR have used four different opening pairs in this stage but it did not help the team as they suffered their fifth consecutive defeat on Thursday, leaving them seventh in the points table.

Saudi said, ‘‘It is not the ideal situation to drop players and replace them with someone else but it happens when you are not winning many matches.’’ Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer opened the innings in the first five matches, but these failed as KKR used three different combinations in their last four matches, including Sunil Narine, Aaron Finch and Sam Billings.
