TMC MLA issues privilege notice against Shubhendu Adhikari

Notice Against Shubhendu Adhikari: With the return of Shubhendu Adhikari in the assembly, the round of splintering has started in the assembly. TMC’s Naihati MLA Partha Bhowmik has accused Leader of Opposition (LOP) Shubhendu Adhikari of violating his rights in the assembly. West Bengal Assembly Speaker Biman Bandyopadhyay addressed the inquiry committee by passing the privilege motion.

Privilege Notice Issued

Actually, they don’t know what they want. TMC MLA Partha Bhowmik issues privilege notice against Shubhendu Adhikari’s remarks. The Speaker said that Shuvendu Adhikari’s statement was sent to the Privileges Committee. He will submit his report. Last week, West Bengal Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee said that Mukul Roy is a BJP MLA. The Speaker’s findings come amid a petition filed in the High Court by Suvendu Adhikari, seeking disqualification of Mukul Roy after he joined TMC.

Calcutta High Court gave one month deadline

Bengal Assembly Speaker Viman Bandopadhyay said that the Calcutta High Court had given me a time limit of one month to settle the matter. I am clearly of the view that the petitioner has failed to prove the contents of the electronic evidence produced by him in support of his argument made in the petition. Therefore, I have no option but to uphold the same decision announced earlier on 11.2.2022.
