Imran Khan Toshkhana Case: Pakistan’s politics is in turmoil. Due to the uproar going on in the country regarding Imran Khan, the politics of that country has heated up. On the other hand, PTI supporters are camping outside the house of party president Imran Khan in Lahore. Meanwhile, there has also been a clash with the supporters and the police force.
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday (March 17) to avoid possible arrest. PTI has called upon party workers to reach Zaman Park and accompany him during his visit to the court.
Imran Khan has skipped several hearings
Earlier this week, the Islamabad police arrived at the former prime minister’s house to arrest him under a non-bailable arrest warrant issued by a sessions court in Islamabad in connection with the Toshakhana case. In which Imran Khan was not present in many hearings in the Toshakhana case. However, the law enforcement agencies backtracked on Wednesday evening saying that the operation was called off during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). Apart from this, the Lahore High Court (LHC) also intervened, after which the operation was postponed twice.
PTI in a sessions court in Islamabad a day ago Imran Khan but the court decided to continue with the arrest warrant. At the same time, the court also upheld its order to arrest the former prime minister and produce him before the court by March 18.
Crowd of PTI supporters present
Dawn reporters who were present outside Zaman Park on Friday said that there was no police presence around, but a crowd of PTI supporters outside Imran’s house with sticks and Was armed with stones, ready for any police operation. Earlier on Friday, the former prime minister filed another petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) challenging the lower court’s decision.
The trial court had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Imran Khan for not attending the hearing in the Toshakhana case and directed the police to produce him before the court on March 7. The PTI chief managed to evade arrest and later approached the IHC to quash the warrant.
