North Korea: North Korea on Sunday launched a short-range ballistic missile into the sea. This is being seen as a response to joint military exercises between the US and South Korea. North Korea has ramped up its testing activities in recent days. Seoul’s military said it was North Korea’s fourth show of force in the past week.
South Korea’s ‘Joint Chiefs of Staff’ In a statement, the missile fired from North Korea’s northwestern region fell into the waters off the country’s east coast. The missile covered a distance of 800 km (500 mi). It was said that the South Korean army has increased vigilance and is maintaining close coordination with the US. Earlier, Japan’s Defense Ministry also claimed that North Korea fired a suspected missile on Sunday morning.
