Zoom dog got the award, fought even after being shot by terrorists

Gallantry Award 2023: Indian Army dog ​​’Zoom’ received Gallantry Award for bravery. With the help of the army’s assault dog Zoom, two terrorists were killed by the security forces in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, on the late night of 9 October. During this, Zoom was hit twice and the dog died during treatment. 

In Anantnag’s Kokernag, Army dog ​​’Zoom’ was tasked to clear the house where the terrorists were hiding. The dog went inside that house and attacked the terrorists. The dog was shot twice during the operation and was injured. 

‘Zoom keeps fighting’

Officials had said that Zoom attacked the terrorists after identifying them, during which he was hit by two bullets, but he kept fighting. He added that Zoom kept fighting and completed its task, which resulted in the neutralization of the two terrorists.

When did he die? 

Army’s assault dog Zoom died on 13 October. The army had said that Zoom’s condition was improving and was responding well, but suddenly he gasped and then died. 

The terrorists were killed by Lashkar-e-Taiba

Two terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba were killed. Apart from Zoom, two jawans were also injured in the encounter. The two-and-a-half-year-old Zoom was attached to the assault unit of the 15 Corps of the Indian Army for the last 10 months.
